About Me
I am in my third year of the journey toward a Doctor of Education. My background is in special education and I have worked in a variety of roles to support students and teachers. I have worked as a Learning Leader for the Special Education Department at a high school within the Calgary Board of Education in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am passionate about working with students who have learning, behavioural or sensory disabilities to find ways to build their engagement in learning and ultimately their achievement levels. I have two undergraduate degrees from Memorial University in Education and English as well as a Masters degree from the Université de Moncton in Special Education. I am looking forward to building my capacity in the area of Educational Technology as I take on this challenge. I am particularly interested in universal design for learning and assistive technology in terms of building student capacity for learning.
